That&#039;s a topic for another post but short and sweet, here&#039;s my take on it:
1. If the MBS portfolios that are out there were given accurate valuations, we&#039;d see a lot of organizations underwater.
2. Then we&#039;d have even more bailouts that the government would feel compelled to do.

So talk with me about mortgage valuation services currently exploding with business.  Seems to me that if the MBS/CDO&#039;s were given a hard valuation that the Street might be more interested in these vehicles again.  

Granted, that won&#039;t help us get 4.5% in January, but, say, August, September 2009?
