Thanks to Bill at Calculated Risk for this chart. It’s another picture of the way that the housing market has deteriorated over the last years. Let me explain:
- In terms of commissions earned as a percentage of GDP, they have dropped by 60% since the peak of the market.
- In terms of dollar amounts, we’re on target to be the same as 2000.
So, while there are many ways to look at the numbers, this chart shows that in many ways, we’re back to 2000.
