Some charts and graphs take a while to sink in…..

But a couple of things struck me about this one:

  • Michigan is a lot worse than anyone else – and that’s the home of the auto industry.   Surprise?
  • West Virginia had the highest unemployment rate in the last 33 years but they are about average now.   I wonder why?
  • Why are North Dakota, Nebraska and South Dakota at basically what economists call statistical “full employment?” when everyone else is hurting more?

Food for thought on a Friday.
